Grossmont Health Occupations Center: Basic Healthcare Interpreting Class: This 50-hour class prepares bilingual individuals with the basic skills, techniques, standards of practice, and ethics to provide accurate healthcare interpreting for Limited English Proficient individuals. Upon completion of this class you will be presented with a certificate of completion. This is a great and affordable way to get started as an interpreter.  You'll still need to go on to get your national certification, but the training you learn here will be foundational to your certification process.  Grossmont Health Occupations Center Website

The National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters: Become a nationally certified interpreter.  The mission of the National Board is to foster improved healthcare outcomes, patient safety and patient/provider communication, by elevating the standards for and quality of medical interpreting through a nationally recognized and validated certification for medical interpreters. The National Board Website
